KOTHAMANGALAM: Tension prevailed here after followers of the Jacobite Syrian Church prevented the entry of a priest of the Orthodox Syrian Church into the Marthoma Cheriyapalli to offer holy mass, on Thursday.
The age-old tiff between the two factions of the Malankara Church over possession of church properties had culminated in the Supreme Court verdict in favour of the Orthodox Church, effectively giving control of most churches to them.
