The maddening crowd at Dadar at 21:30hrs boarding 10104 Madgaon Mumbai Cst Mandovi Express. The Mandovi Express will terminate its journey at Mumbai Cst, 9kms now from Dadar.

The people were actually going to board Mumbai Madgaon Konkan Kanya Express whose schedule time is 23:05hrs from Mumbai Cst. Mandovi Express does RSA (Rake Sharing) with Konkan Kanya Express. Since Konkan Kanya Express gets jampacked like anything from Mumbai Cst, people who are supposed to go to their native places from Mumbai are forced to waste time and do reverse journey in this fashion. People board Mandovi express even from Panvel to Mumbai Cst, nearly 50kms in reverse direction so that they can get place to sit when travelling to their native places.

Although this is an interesting and amusing scene to watch but is actually a reflection of shocking deficit of trains in Indian Railways and particularly such sections like Konkan Railway.

You will see this shocking scene not just in vacations but almost throughout the year. 1 additional train on Konkan Railway will be a relief to commuters and as well as benefit the railways too. I hope railways take this seriously.
