Dr M Balamurali Krishna - Detailed Rendition of Nagumo
November 22 was the 3RD ANNIVERSARY OF THE SATGATI OF DR. MANGALAMPALLI BALAMURALIKRISHNA GĀRU.
Here is his signature rendering of NAGUMOMU, a composition of Tyagaraja Swami (1767 -1847) in the Rāga Ābheri, a janya of the 22nd melakarta Kharaharapriya.
He was a true exemplar of Bhāratiya Manodharma Sangeeta. Both his Sangeeta and demeanour were akin to that of a Chakravarti. He was also a teacher par excellence.
Shri Jayashankar Rajagopalan recall that when his mother was bedridden for 25 months, Dr M Balamurali Krishna's music consoled her a lot.
